Nova Star

20 AMP' RMS

The Nova Star was designed to be a separate amplifier output stage.  It became obvious after working with WFC’s, toroidal coil transformers and various PWM designs for many months that the hostile environment created by a working voltage intensifier circuit and a WFC was creating electrical noise in the form of RF, current surges and large reverse voltage spiking that was damaging the signal source.  What was required was to isolate the computer from the amplifier stage.
The Nova Star is an optically-coupled power output amplifier board.  This unit can be connected to any PWM signal source, e.g. a lap top computer, the Micro Star, etc. without any fear of high voltage spiking damaging sensitive digital logic circuits.
The Nova Star carries an extra large heat sink, high voltage, ultra-fast, super barrier diodes.  The circuit is fully shielded with voltage regulators and surge arrestors, all optically-coupled.  Two types of driver IC’s are available, i.e. the inverting and non-inverting types.  These can be installed on request by the purchaser and a range of MOSFET’s can be fitted to suit an individual’s needs.
The Nova Star comes as a standard fitted unit to the Micro Star WFC-020.  The Nova Star is also available as a kit and as a populated unit.

The Nova Star is a new circuit board released as a companion board to the Micro Star.

The Nova Star is a power amplifier output circuit board. This board can be connected to any PWM signal generator that has an output capability of a 2.5mA

The Nova Star is optically coupled and can be connected to any computer without any fear of stray back EMF voltages damaging the source supply system.
